Named after the Egyptian sun god, Ra offers 19,000 square feet of dance-crazed entertainment. The club is centered on a spacious laser-beam-lit dance floor that is surrounded by countless booths and tables where visitors can get their drink on before they get their groove on. (Word up!) Check out the two cigar bars, which are always filled with misconstrued conventioneers and pretentious slicksters sucking on Cubans and lapping up dry martinis. Music ranges from all types, from 70s disco to the latest rap and techno. DJs from all over the west coast spin here. Ra features a variety of special events as well, from bikini contests to live bands. Be sure you know the dress code before showing up, as it is strictly enforced. A mixed crowd of locals and visitors, generally young in years, frequent this dark and expansive club that always welcomes a party atmosphere. So, if you’re an avid club-hopper, Ra is worth the $15 cover charge (ladies from Vegas admitted free with ID, excluding show nights). However, if you’re simply looking for a night out, and you want to be able to hear yourself think, there are many other, less expensive clubs in Vegas that might tickle your fancy. Open Wednesday - Saturday, not before 10pm.
