The Tropicana is one of the original casinos to occupy a spot on the Vegas Strip. It underwent a major renovation in 1995 and again in 1999. The exterior of the Tropicana attempts to depict the pastel coloring and design of a Caribbean village.
The coloring scheme is continued in the interior of the casino. The Tropicana doesn't have the spacious gaming floor of a Caesar's or MGM Grand; however, the setting and arrangement is comfortable, a perfect place to camp out in front of a slot machine.
The Tropicana lives up to its name with its tropical grounds containing flamingos, African crown cranes, toucans, and Brazilian parrots. In fact, the grounds are a great place to take a break from the tables. Stroll under palm trees and weeping willows while checking out the exotic and colorful flowers, waterfalls, Koi ponds and lagoons. If the weather is poor, you stroll through the wildlife walk located inside the casino.
The rooms of the Tropicana are generally located inside the Island Tower and the Paradise Tower.
