Treasure Island has taken pains to lose its "Disney" image; so families might be better off at Circus Circus or the Excalibur.
The Treasure Island Pirate show has been replaced by The Sirens of TI, depicting the clash between a group of beautiful sirens and renegade pirates. The spectacle takes place in front of the establishment, which resembles an 18th-century pirate cove, complete with lagoon, wooden dock and a pirate ship. If you're staying at the casino, try to get a strip-side room above the sixth floor to get a good view. It takes place at 6:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. nightly. You can also get a good view at the Battle Bar inside the casino (arrive early to get a good seat).
The casino floor is spacious and highly themed. A highlight of the gaming floor is the Slot 2000 machines, which are connected to a casino employee who will offer assistance with anything you need. Simply press a button and a video screen will appear with the staff member. They can make reservations, send someone over with a drink, answer questions, and will even congratulate you on a jackpot.
The hotel recently completed a $65 million upgrade. Each of the 2,900 guest rooms and suites sets an intimate tone with new carpet and a selection of unique furnishings.
