Bellagio Resort & Casino
Address: Corner of Las Vegas Blvd. & Flamingo Rd.
Description:
Inspired by the Italian village of Bellagio that overlooks Lake Como, the Bellagio casino features the gardens and red tiled roofs of a lakeside Italian Villa. Lakeside? That’s right. The Mirage Volcano has nothing on the 9-acre manmade lake that is part of the Bellagio’s frontage.
A $30 million water and fountain show periodically takes place in the lake, accompanied by lights and music. Such artists as Luciano Pavarotti and the late Frank Sinatra provide vocals for the shows. This wonder of water, light and sound is quickly becoming one of Las Vegas’ favorite outdoor attractions. It’s very impressive during the day, but the evening shows are superb.
The interior of the Bellagio is grand in both scale and design. Above the 18-foot ceiling in the lobby is a coffer filled with an extraordinary glass sculpture called Fiori di Como by Dale Chihuly. Comprised of ornate glass flowers, this sculpture erupts with color.
As you might expect, the Bellagio also features some of the finest dining in Las Vegas. The famous Maccioni family acclaimed restaurateuring family responsible for New York’s Le Circe opened a branch of this legendary French restaurant in the Bellagio as well as a Tuscan restaurant called Circo, featuring fine food and an excellent view of the fountains.
An Old World porte cochere leads the way to an elegant shopping promenade with an unrivaled collection of fine fashion boutiques. Upon completion of the casino, Steve Wynn boasted 'The sophisticated, gracious style of the boutiques reflects the overall ambiance of Bellagio.'
As you can tell, the Bellagio raised the standard for all new casinos to Las Vegas. It’s is one of the world’s premier gambling destinations and the most opulent casino on the strip.
A free monorail runs from the Bellagio to the Monte Carlo.
